the best book for beginners （2002-03-12）
With this book you can learn least necessery grammer very very efficiently. I first bought "teach yourself: greek" (I live in US so it was easier to look for books in english), but this book had many vocaburaries that are fun but useless (like names of food, drink, etc) and I didn't see much progress for the amount of time I spent, so I asked my friend in Japan to buy express series and send it to me. I didn't know about CD express, but it's quite good with CD. My greek friends got quite impressed that I learned so quickly. It wasn't possible without this book. Negatives of this book is that because of limitation as a book in a series (20 chapters, limited pages, etc), the author has to give up putting more stuffs. Or there could be part II.
Basically this "express" series are all very good and efficient. Greek is kind of hard, but you need only 3-4 days to learn Italian or Spanish or that kind of languages enough to have some chat with locals if you already know english.
